Sometimes the conversations I have with my child amaze me. Our conversations also make me weep for the future of our country…
Chase (while watching Alvin and the Chipmunks): “Which one is Alvin?”
Me: “The one in the red shirt.”
Chase: “Which restaurant?”
Me: “I said the one in the red shirt.”
Chase: “Me going to a restaurant?”
Me: “No, Alvin is the chipmunk in the red shirt.”
Chase: “I want my flashlight.”
I don’t know what bothers me more: the fact that we were
having a conversation about a talking, fictional rodent or that neither of us
could follow the conversation.
